Signature Event
The inaugural Native Hawaiian Arts & Culture Expo, launching a new annual tradition celebrating Native Hawaiian arts, culture, and community at Nā Lama Kukui, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs building.
The 2nd annual Expo expanded with craft fair, workshops, presentations, entertainment, demonstrations, and a Native Art Gallery — a free event celebrating kūpuna and community at Ka Makana Aliʻi.
Event Series
The Hawaiian Aliʻi Event Series was a signature series of community events produced by Kamaka Pili, each built around honoring a specific Hawaiian aliʻi on their birthday. Held at Ka Makana Aliʻi, The Center for West Oʻahu, each event featured cultural performances, educational programming, and storytelling that brought the legacy of Hawaiʻi's beloved royal figures to life — honoring those who honored us.
Honoring Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole, the People's Prince, this event brought cultural performances, educational programming, and community celebration to West Oʻahu — connecting the community with the legacy of one of Hawaiʻi's most beloved leaders.
A celebration of Queen Emma Kaleleonalani, beloved consort of King Kamehameha IV and champion of the Hawaiian people, featuring hula, cultural demonstrations, and storytelling that brought her enduring legacy to life.
Commemorating King Kamehameha II, Liholiho, who boldly abolished the kapu system and opened a new era for the Hawaiian people, with cultural programming, traditional arts, and educational presentations.
Returning for a second year, this expanded celebration of Prince Kūhiō Day drew an even larger community turnout with hula, chant, cultural vendors, and interactive programming throughout the day.
